There was a time when Sundays meant something everyone understood without being reminded. The stores were closed, the town felt quieter, and family came first.
It wasn’t always comfortable, but it was real. We adapted, laughed it off, and kept going. Looking back now, it’s hard not to smile at how resilient we were without ever calling it that. Sometimes surviving just fine wasn’t about having more, it was about knowing how to live with less.
It wasn’t a choice you debated or a plan you scheduled around. It was simply how life worked. Sunday was set aside for being together, for shared meals, conversations, rest, and connection.
That pause gave the week a rhythm. It reminded people that work could wait, errands could wait, and what mattered most couldn’t. Looking back now, it wasn’t about rules or restrictions. It was about valuing time, family, and presence in a way that feels rare today. And sometimes, missing those Sundays is really missing the balance they gave us.
